- Clean gutters and downspouts
- Trim branches hanging over the roof
Check it
- Pipe boots and vent flashing
- Chimney and skylight flashing
- Missing or damaged shingles
- Attic for stains or daylight
Plan for winter
Know who you'll call for roof snow removal, and where snow will slide. If you've had ice dams before, talk to a roofer about the cause before the snow arrives.
